• All of our companion dogs are sold with a spay/neuter contract. We do not sell dogs to be bred by pet owners. AKC registrations will be sent to the buyer after written proof of the spay/neuter is sent to Indianland by a veterinarian by 10 months of the age of the dog. Any spay/neuter proof sent later than the specified time could result in a penalty fee through AKC. If any dog is registered after the dog is 1 year of age, a penalty fee is required by AKC ,along with the registration fee. Indianland also requires hips and elbows to be x-rayed and sent to the Orthopedic Foundation For Animals (OFA- www.offa.org) for evaluation between 12mo and 3years of age.

• Indianland cannot guarentee the sex of a puppy placed. If you are adamant about receiving a specific sex and refuse to accept what is available, your deposit is still non-refundable. Your name will be moved to the next available litter list and you take your chances on what will be available.

• Indianland chooses which dog goes to which home.By spending several hours each day with our dogs, Indianland knows all the dogs' behaviors and attitudes and we try to get to know all the potential puppy owners' needs and wants. Therefore, Indianland will place each dog into whichever homes Indianland deems the best for that dog and family.

• When a litter is finally whelped, Indianland will notify all who have put down a deposit and let them know which week the puppies will be going to their new homes. All potential owners should block that week out so scheduling of pick up times is not a problem. If a potential owner asks Indianland to keep the dog until a later date, there will be an additional $25 per day charge, payable in full at the time of pick up.

• Sometimes the issue of shipping comes up. Even though many breeders are willing to ship their dogs, Indianland will not ship our dogs under any circumstances! If you must ship your dog, you are responsible for all the arrangements and costs, plus getting the dog to the means of transport set up by the owner. Indianland does not tranport dogs. Potential owners living outside the Pacific Northwest will have to come to Indianland by whatever means necessary to pick up their dogs.

• Indianland does not export our Bernese to foreign countries except to Canada. All Canadian buyers are responsible for finding out the rules and regulations for registering an American bred dog in Canada. All costs to Indianland will be paid in US funds.

• Placing a potential show dog with someone is a decision Indianland does not take lightly. We do not place potential show dogs with people we do not know. We reserve the right to tell a person 'No', even if there has been discussion as to the possibility of owning a potential show dog. As to placing a potential show dog with an established breeder, each situation is handled individually, and again, we reserve the right to say 'No'.

• Last, but not least, sometimes Indianland runs into situations where it is in the best interest of both parties to terminate any verbal or written agreement to sell a dog. If Indianland deems it necessary to terminate any agreement, Indianland will refund the original deposit.
